Bonnie's 6 Month Check-up

Truth be told, Bonnie is closer to 7 months than she is to 6 months, but she had her 6 month doctor's visit this afternoon nonetheless. It's always a treat to get to bring both kids to the doctor at the same time. Not to say that's it's completely awful, just a bit more of a challenge.

At her age, Grace naturally assumes that any time we make a visit to the doctor she is going to get "sticks". We had had a long talk in the car about how this was not an appointment for her and that she was only there to help the doctor make sure that Bonnie is growing up healthy and strong, yadda...yadda. I then made her promise that she would be very good (and quiet) during the appointment so that I could talk to the doctor. Dr. Jeff, to be exact. She agreed and I actually believed her. Ha! Not 5 minutes...no, seconds after the nurse took us back into the room she was asking all sorts of questions and trying to grab all the equipment. Fantastic. She probably picked up some horrid virus and we'll be back on Thursday for a sick appointment. Then again on Monday because Grace has given said horrid virus to Bonnie.

Anyway, as soon as Dr. Jeff walked through the door Grace bolted to the bench and sat down as fast as she could. Did I mention that she's not a fan of going to the doctor? Well, she eventually remembered her purpose for being at the appointment and immediately started helping. "Hey, Dr. Jeff, jewels are too small for Bon to play with. Dr. Jeff, Bonnie likes to eat breakfast with me. Dr. Jeff, are you going to look in Bon's ears? Are you going to see bee stings or butterflies and flowers? Dr. Jeff...Dr. Jeff...Dr. Jeff..." Wow.

Needless to say, it was sort of a long appointment, but after all that Bonnie is, thankfully, a healthy 6 (7) month old who is growing up just as she should!
