On the first day of every month, he would yell "white rabbit" to anyone who walked into his classroom. Odd, yes, but Coach believed that if you said "white rabbit" to a person on the 1st of the month before they said it to you, you would have good luck for the entire month.
Once we all caught on to the game it became a challenge as to who would get to say it to Coach first. We loved to get creative and do silly things like get to school early and hide in homeroom and spring out to surprise him before he even knew what hit him.
Thanks to Coach Murphy, that is a fun little game I have been playing with my mom since I was 14 years old. Of course, I've taught the game to Corey and subsequently our girls. Grace gets a real kick out of it now. And she totally busted me this morning!
We also busted out our Bulldogs gear a couple of days early this year. GO DAWGS!!!!
